I have had a number of messenger / sidebags and computer briefcases and however they look at the start, they wear out very quickly. My last one, due to a terrible design fault (but I bought it cheap at TK MAX so I suspect that is why it was there) wore through the flap lining in under 2 months due to poor design / placement of fittings, so I started looking for a leather bag. It quickly became obvious that the vast majority were thin, very low quality leather with little to recommend them after the initial gleam they came from the shop with. One leather bag has had its lining tear, a totally inapproriate material was used, and is now starting to go so soft and shapeless that I am waiting for the stitching to tear...
2 years ago I was in Morocco and bought a heavy duty camel leather bag from a trader in Marrakesah after much haggling. It was as heavy duty as you can get (Not as heavy duty as Saddleback though) but smelt distressingly of camels, something I overlooked in the rather rarified atmosphere of an African City. Its just been sold on Ebay having endured a 2 year process of being moved around the house and sheds, spending some quality time with a friend who took it bicycling, and finally losing 90% of its natural organic nasal quality... I even went to those hallowed purveyors of all things British, Marks and Spencers and John Lewis, but it still seemed to be the same old thin lined stuff designed for a few years only with plastic coated fake leather, sometimes at suprisingly high prices.
And then I found Saddleback stuff. great I thought, till I worked out how much it was going to cost to ship it to this country... It has taken me 4 months to justify spending the money (Many spend years!) but now I have I am extremely pleased. It arrived today, less than a week after placing my order. I was worried it was a bit heavy but iut has tuned out fine.

Hello and Welcome
Today I have set this blog up for all those thinking of buying a Saddleback Bags Medium Thin Briefcase. I live in Nottingham, UK and by the time I had paid shipping and import duty to the UK from USA, this bag cost me about $600 = £400 sterling! I thought that it would be useful to post what I think having paid my own money for this thing!
